Description

Design Museum Mornings with Sanjli Gidwaney, CEO of Design for Change USA

Children are born empathetic, they are born designers. Too often, however, when they try to tap into their natural agency, they are told they are too young, too inexperienced, or too naive to make a difference. How can we empower them? What tools can we provide?

Sanjli Gidwaney, CEO of Design for Change USA, will share the power of design thinking as a lever for social change and the impact it has had across the world, not only on students but on teachers and communities as well.

July’s Design Museum Morning is hosted at Red Thread on July 20. Join us for breakfast, coffee and great conversation!

Doors open at 8:30 am; Presentation begins at 9:00 am.

Over 10 years ago, Sanjli discovered Design for Change, a program using design thinking to activate young people to do good in their communities. She was taken by its simplicity and the fact that it was in a small handful of countries. Sanjli brought the movement to the USA exploring ways of collaborating with educators across the USA to adopt the approach. To date, Design for Change has a presence in 60+ countries, has received over 20,000 projects of change and has impacted the lives of over 2 million children, including here in the USA.
