The Houston Design District is thrilled to host a line-up of design talent for its 2nd annual spring event, Design Days, on Wednesday, April 5 and Thursday, April 6. The two-day event will showcase the latest in interior design with lectures, panel discussions, open houses and more.
Wednesday, April 5: 10 a.m. with Nina Magon, Nina Magon Studio "Next Level: Great design and how to leverage it for more"
Kicking off the two-day event is Nina Magon, named Entrepreneur of the Year by Houston’s Asian Chamber of Commerce late last year, Magon has taken her design firm beyond the usual boundaries, with a 50-piece furniture collection with Universal Furniture, lighting collection, and home goods featured recently at Bergdorf Goodman. In addition to putting her touch on beautiful homes, both in the United States and internationally, through her interior design firm, Nina Magon Studio, she has also designed exquisite retail and hospitality sites such as the new Zadok Jewelers building and 51Fifteen Cuisine and Cocktails at Saks Fifth Avenue. Hosted by James Craig Furnishings, Showroom 298 at The Houston Design Center
Wednesday, April 5: 11:15 a.m. with Mary Lambrakos, Lambrakos Studio "The Intersection of Art and Design"
Join Mary Lambrakos of Lambrakos Studio for an engaging conversation on the intrinsic symbiosis of art and interior design. Mary will share her unique perspective on how uniting art and design forges unforgettable environments that speak to a compelling narrative. Expanding on how the installation of a piece by Carlos Cruz-Diez transformed the entry of her most recent project into an ever-changing tapestry of light, Mary will explore the power of art and its ability to create immersive experiences. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or a seasoned interior designer, this promises to be a stimulating exploration of the varied ways art informs design and shapes our experience of home. Hosted by James Craig Furnishings, Showroom 298 at The Houston Design Center
