Event description

Description

This workshop will guide you through the process of creating designs, carving blocks, and printing simple repeat patterns on fabric.

You’ll leave with your own, custom-printed fabric, and the process to work on more projects at home.

A Beginner's Toolkit will be included and covers the fabric and inks you’ll need to get started. You are welcome to bring additional, plain fabric made from natural fibers to print on.

Please bring your own block of lino, softcut, or softoleum and carving tools; because sharp tools are used, this class is limited to adult students.

ABENA ASOMANING

Influenced by her Ghanaian roots and love of textiles she uses a combination of block printing, hand dying, and illustration to produce colourful pillows from her original fabrics.
