DESIGN Canberra is an annual festival celebrating and promoting Canberra as a global city of design.
Canberra is Australia’s cool little capital. Design Canberra, now in its third year, showcases design excellence across all disciplines—the best the ACT has to offer. From 27 October to 25 November, DESIGN Canberra presents over 100 exhibitions, events, activations and workshops, covering landscape design, architecture, industrial design, technology, fashion, jewellery and homewares. This year features a tribute exhibition to design luminary Robert Foster, workshops with ‘trashion’ installation artist Francis Sollano (Philippines), public conversation with sustainable designer David Trubridge (NZ), urban renewal inspiration from Marcus Westbury, tours of acclaimed Canberra houses, artists’ open studios and more.
DESIGN Canberra is for all interests and ages. Most events are free. More than 26,000 visitors flock to the festival, including from interstate.
