Description

Presenter: Neal Ryan, MD

Dr. Neal Ryan’s research career has focused on unipolar depression, bipolar depression and anxiety disorders in youth. He has led a number of large collaborative studies including a Program Project grant focusing on the nosology, course and neurobehavioral correlates of unipolar depression in youth and, more recently, a Center grant studying the treatment of anxiety disorder in youth and changes in biomarkers with treatment. Currently, he is exploring the use of contemporary machine learning approaches in psychiatry. In addition to his research, he is the director of education for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh and leads an R25 career development institute for child psychiatry researchers in the areas of prevention, intervention and services.
