Come see this powerful production that focuses on the mental health issues facing servicemen and women, veterans, and their families.
Erasing the Distance, founded in 2005 by a DePaul alumnus, is a highly respected Chicago-based theatre company that uses the power of performance to shed light on issues of mental health. The productions are known for their unflinching honesty and emotional power and have been seen by over 40,000 people so far throughout Illinois and beyond. They are brought to life by some of Chicago’s best professional actors, often seen on the stages of the Goodman, Steppenwolf, The Court and Victory Gardens.
ETD created a theatrical performance from the ground up featuring the true stories of military veterans who have experienced mental health issues as well as their families. The goal is to generate awareness, break silence, & disarm stigma about mental health in the military and to link veterans and their loved ones to necessary resources. The performance will be followed by a dialogue afterward to help the audience process the themes of the show and ask questions about mental health.
