DePaul Faculty Community Immersion Institute
Date and time
Using Asset-Based Community Development to maximize student learning and community impact.
About this event
This two-day Institute offers participants an exciting opportunity to learn from our campus and community colleagues in our partnering neighborhoods. Through panels, discussion, working sessions and walking tours we will consider asset-based approaches to community-based service learning from faculty, community, and student points of view.
Through the Community Immersion Faculty Institute, participants will deepen their understanding of:
- Cultivating and sustaining community partnerships;
- Community-based Service Learning and Asset-Based Community Development;
- Community history, current social justice issues, and assets; and
- Draft, revise, or improve a CbSL course, internship, or research project
Facilitated by Mark Chupp, Professor of Social Work and member, ABCD Higher Education Working Group, Case Western Reserve University.
