Over an intensive two day workshop in a relaxed and intimate setting, Sundance award winning writer/director Diane Bell and producer Chris Byrne will share step by step how to make a stand out indie film, from developing a unique script to distributing your completed film...and everything that happens in between. Get ready to be inspired and to learn the practical tools that will take your filmmaking goals to the next level.
After completing this two day intensive, you will have a clear plan of action of how to make your dream of making a great movie into a reality. Broken down into sixteen simple steps, the mystery of how to successfully fund, make and distribute your film will be eliminated, and you will feel empowered and full of confidence about how to proceed.
Diane and Chris don't teach the conventional way of making a movie (cast big names, foreign presales, etc), but drawing on their real life experience making Sundance winner, Obselidia, they share the Rebel Heart way: a path that is open to anyone, anywhere. You don't have to have go to film school or be greenlit by the powers that be. You just need to have the desire to make a movie and the willingness to do the work of each step to make your dream of a filmmaking career your reality.
With a maximum of twelve participants at each workshop, you will have plenty of personal attention and opportunity to ask all the questions you have. In the workshop, we practice total honesty, and you will learn the truth behind making sucessful indie films.
You will also meet and become part of a community of serious, ambitious and wonderful filmmakers. In the year since we have started teaching this workshop, our alumni have already gone on to create successful web series, short films and features - and best of all, many of them are working with each other. Our goal is to help anyone who is serious about making films achieve their dream by sharing real life knowledge and creating a solid community of support.
"Don't bother with film school, you can learn everything you need in one weekend from Diane and Chris. They break things down, step by step, on how to plan, make, and promote your film. They aren't teaching theory, they are fellow filmmakers sharing their firsthand experiences. And best of all, they teach how you can be a SUSTAINABLE filmmaker. I can't recommend their workshop enough." - Neil Stevens
