Event description

Description

The Denver Press Club annually inducts members to its Hall of Fame. This year’s event, our 23rd annual, is right around the corner on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Denver Athletic Club, with a pre-ceremony reception at the Denver Press Club across the street from 5-7 p.m. The event will begin at 7 p.m.

Single tickets cost $90 per person for members of the Denver Press Club and $110 for nonmembers. A table costs $1,000 for 10 people. To purchase a table, please contact us at president@denverpressclub.org or order one here.

Our inductees:

Jerry Bell, managing editor of KOA Radio and a cluster of stations owned by its parent, iHeartMedia. His 32 years in Denver have included stints as news and program director and have made him a familiar voice to Coloradans on some of the biggest news stories this state has seen.

Greg Moore, former Denver Post editor of nearly 14 years whose tenure saw the newspaper win four consecutive Pulitzer Prizes from 2010-2013 and achieve finalist status five other times since 2004. Previously, he was a top editor at the Boston Globe, where he worked 16 years.

Janet Reeves, who in 27 years at the Rocky Mountain News, rose to senior editor for visuals, leading the newspaper’s photographers to an industry leader and supervised three Pulitzer Prizes for photography.

John Temple, who spent 17 years at the Rocky Mountain News, where he rose from metro editor to editor, president, publisher and vice president of news for the newspaper division of the E.W. Scripps Co. Under his direction, the Rocky won four Pulitzer Prizes and numerous other national awards.

Anne Trujillo, Denver7 anchor and Colorado native who, in 34 years at KMGH Denver7, has covered stories from the Columbine and Aurora theater shootings to the 2008 Democratic National Convention, winning multiple awards, including Emmys, in the process.

Our historic inductee is Lowell Thomas, a pioneering broadcast journalist and war correspondent raised in the mining town of Victor, Colorado and who began his career here. He later became a war correspondent in Europe and the Middle East and was one of the first journalist to cover T.E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia.

This will be a tremendous event you won't want to miss. Thank you, as always, for your support.
