Demystifying The Purpose Journey:

For your Brand, Culture and Leadership

It’s no secret that purpose-driven brands are winning the hearts, wallets and loyalty of consumers. That’s why in many firms, it’s been the marketing executive who’s been leading the charge to purpose. However, creating and communicating brand purpose and building a culture that actually lives it authentically are entirely different things (and produce entirely different results). If this sounds a conversation that belongs in HR, think again. Authentic marketing practices have become a key ingredient for a strong, sustainable brand and an organizational culture that you actually want to work in.

Join us for a powerful half-day workshop where you’ll gain both insight and specific, practical tools to help you leverage brand purpose to fuel commerce, grow your company bottom line, and, believe it or not, improve the world. Workshop registration is $350 and includes a ticket to Sum and Substance (RSVP required), an inspiring and topical event featuring case study stories from business leaders who have put the workshop learnings into action to fuel their success.

EVENT SUMMARY

Session 1 - Jessica Joines: ‘How To’ Profit on Brand Purpose - 12:30 - 1:30PM
Consumers expect brands to be a driving force for good in more ways than ever before. They’re fueling a paradigm shift that is changing how we select and stay loyal to brands. In this session, learn how to successfully create a brand purpose that drives profit.

Session 2 - Nathan Havey: Building a Performance Culture - 1:45 - 2:45
The traditional tools we use to get (and keep) the right people on the bus, and have them actually work together are limited in their effectiveness. Those approaches are all aimed at a single target in two-target game. To reach the other, more difficult target, you have to use a different set of tools. Learn what they are and how to use them and you’ll produce far-greater performance for your company.

Session 3 - Aaron Kahlow: Becoming a Conscious Leader - 3:00 - 4:00
Create and deepen the connection with your “doing good through business” community peers by working together to learn how to be a more conscious, values-aligned leader.

Thank you to Conscoius Company Media and Drangon Army for making this event possible.

Learn:

  • Consumer and industry trends fueling the shift to conscious business and purpose

  • How this shift is playing out across demographics, verticals and key geographies

  • Why & how purpose-driven brands are winning hearts, wallets and loyalty

  • 5 principles for mastering an authentic brand purpose

Tools:

  • Company audit against the 7 levels of business consciousness

  • How to unlock brand purpose--Mapping exercise

  • How to leverage your voice for good--Storytelling exercise

Outcomes:

  • Understand where your company currently ranks

  • Actionable takeaways & insight to how your company can align

  • Framework for creating brand purpose and authentic storytelling

Session 2 - Nathan Havey: Building a Performance Culture - 1:45 - 2:45

Pass on perks, drop the trust falls, and ignore interviews.

Learn:

  • How to find and hire the right people

  • How to double the productivity of your team

  • How to fix problems before they occur

  • How to unleash innovative potential

Tools:

  • Meaning - the experience that you are part of something the matters

  • Care - the experience that you are cared about at work

  • Growth - the experience that you are growing into the person you’d like to become

  • Say - the experience that your voice matters in the workplace

Assuming you can hit the first target reliably, the second target is the ballgame for your company.

Outcomes:

  • Assess where your company stands on hitting both targets.

  • Understand how other companies have used these tools to great effect

  • Become familiar with essential best practices

  • Find concrete next steps for your company.

Session 3 - Aaron Kahlow: Becoming a Conscious Leader - 3:00 - 4:00

Create and deepen the connection with your “doing good through business” community peers by working together to learn how to be a more conscious, values-aligned leader.

Learn:

  • Insights into the fundamentals of becoming a more whole and conscious leader

  • Processes and tools to create internal change in the workplace

  • Engaging experiential exercises to connect and learn from one another’s journey

  • A leadership framework to use to realize your full potential and that of your team

Whether we are leading a multinational organization or are a team leader in a small, local company, the impact on the world we can have is only as great as our internal capacity to create it. Meaning, if we can cultivate the skills, inner-clarity, and compassion to understand the why behind our efforts to do good, then the authenticity of leading these efforts will create the highest impact and most long-term sustainable good we wish to see. In this workshop we will cultivate such a capacity.

Tools: Emersive Exercises:

  1. New paradigms of thinking to get “un-stuck” on work or life ruts that get in the way

  2. Self-awareness exercises to clearly “see” how you are showing up

  3. Group feedback sessions to share challenges and get feedback in a helpful way

  4. Modern meditation techniques that are easy and can be used throughout the day

  5. Pillars or Conscious Leadership of presence, acceptance, and compassion

We start by integrating our leadership values with our workplace purpose, and then create a framework for purpose-driven efforts to create impact and the core drive to make this world a better place. And it all starts with “the self.” Your own way of being.Getting clarity on the root of our authentic, values-driven leadership leads to the transformation everyone of us seeks… a transformation within ourselves, our workplaces, and our businesses.

Long-term Outcomes:

  • The highest and best version of you as a leader

  • Better sense of purpose at your work and meaning in life

  • Calm and ease to find the grace needed to have day to day joy in your work

  • Clarity on where to focus your energies and, for some, new direction for the business

  • Skills to more adeptly lead the next generation of talent

  • Capacity to better handle the stress, anxiety, and pressure amidst the chaos

  • Work-life balance for both you and your team

  • A greater perspective to help find your path to impact on the world

  • New friends and colleagues for the retreat and quite possibly, rest of your life.
