Presenter:
Leigh Henderson has been writing grants for non-profit arts organizations for nearly 20 years. From 2016 to 2022, she served as the Managing Director of Teatro Visión, San José’s Chicanx/Latinx theater company. During her tenure, she raised more than $1.5 million in government and foundation grants for the organization. As a result, Teatro Visión more than doubled its annual budget, programming, and audiences. She also offers grant writing and other non-profit consulting services to numerous community-focused arts nonprofits throughout the Bay Area and the state of California. Leigh is also a practicing theatrical designer whose work has been seen on stages throughout the Bay Area, Wisconsin, Colorado, New York City, and at the prestigious Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space and a cake artist who has appeared on multiple shows on the Food Network. She holds a BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA in Arts Administration and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Theater Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
