Course Summary:

This course aims to demystify company liquidations in Guernsey and the BVI.


Audience:

Individuals who deal with companies and need to understand the liquidation process in offshore jurisdictions.


Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the concept of voluntary strike off.

  • Understand the concept of voluntary liquidation, when it is required and how to go about it.

  • Understand the concept of compulsory liquidation.

  • Be introduced to the concept of administration in respect of a company.

  • Be able to describe the role of the liquidator in a winding up.

  • Be introduced to the concepts of wrongful trading and fraudulent trading.

  • Learn about the role of the Guernsey Registry during the liquidation process.

  • Be able to contrast company liquidations in both Guernsey and the BVI.


Duration: This training will be 1.5 hours in duration.
