Democratic survivals in various countries have been just as unexpected as the democratic erosions that have occurred in the developed world. How do democracies around the world continue to survive even in an age of democratic decline?
Scott Mainwaring, Eugene and Helen Conley Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, and co-editor of the new book Democracy in Hard Places, will join us at the University of Chicago to discuss this question.
