Description

'When Science Attacks' by Dr Simon Foster (for pupils in years 9 & 10)

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance

**Please note that this event is aimed at pupils in years 9 & 10 (aged 13 to 15). Schools are kindly asked to have only one staff member register the whole group**

In this talk we explore what happens when science doesn't play by the rules and decides to attack! We will look at the science behind some of the more amazing headlines in the news and use demonstrations to show the science behind these topics and the human impact of them

Simon Foster is a former science teacher and is now the Outreach Officer for the Department of Physics at Imperial College London. Simon has a PhD in solar physics and a Masters in physics with space science, so he's a real life rocket scientist! He has a passion for communicating science and it’s his aim to inspire children to fall in love with science. In 2009 Simon entered the NESTA FameLab competition, winning the London heat and coming 3rd in the UK final.
