You will learn about the diverse work they do to help find TB in the UK population, and how the they fight tuberculosis through their research. TB is a very complex disease, and it can affect different people in different ways. In some people the TB bug can remain in the body for a long time with without causing harm. However, in others, it can multiply and cause damage to the body and to the health or kill people. The Tuberculosis Research Centre is helping to develop new and better tests to find those people with the TB bug inside them, and to offer them treatment.
