Event description

Description

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR MAY 19TH.

Ever wondered how to grow and repot water plants?

This is part of a new series of free demos of plant basics, where we'll show you the nuts and bolts plant growing, such as repotting.

For plants that grow and mature in water, it's rather different than your usual plant. In early spring, it's time for us to work on our on-site ponds and get them in shape for rapid summer growth. NHG's Education & Outreach Coordinator Rusty E. Allen focuses on the biggest category with the widest range of plants to choose from: the marginals. These plants mostly grow at the water's edge, and can offer some truly unique forms and textures in a water feature, whether it's a large pond with stones, or a small container on a patio. Dividing techniques, soils, and products will all be shown.

FREE. LIMITED SEATING on our Patio. There will be room to stand.

NOTE: This is an outdoor event, and will be cancelled if there is extreme weather.

SAVE THE DATES:

Our annual Water Gardening Weekend is set for Saturday and Sunday, May 18th & 19th.

Would you like to go ponding? The North Texas Water Gardening Society's annual Tour of Ponds is June 8th & 9th, and is an ideal time to ask more questions and see the many rewards of adding water to your garden.
