Dementia Caregiver Wellness Day 2020 is POSTPONED
Event Information
Description
With increasing concerns about the spread of COVID-19/coronavirus, we have decided to postpone this year's dementia Caregiver Wellness Day. If you wish, you can still register through this event page as usual, and we will reach out to you when we have a new date.
Meanwhile, we'd like to offer you an online 2-hour event on April 5th, which will include a few wellness-related practices, and breakout groups. You can find information about this event and register for it here: https://2020wellness.eventbrite.com
Wishing you health and wellness,
Ymkje, Roy and Kathie.
A day of wellness for family and friends who care for a loved one with dementia.
Please join us for the second annual Dementia Caregiver Wellness Day, a day of wellness, relaxation, and community.
We recognize how challenging the experience of dementia can be for a family caregiver, so we have created an annual day especially for you. You are invited to participate in various wellness related activities, that can help boost your resilience and sustain your wellness as you continue on your journey.
The day will offer 4 1 1/2-hour sessions, during which you'll have a chance to experience different ways to practice self-care. You will leave feeling energized, relaxed, and inspired to pursue one or more of these practices throughout the year.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. If you have dietary restrictions, please do consider bringing your own lunch.
***If you are a professional hoping to network, we kindly ask that you don't attend. This event is for informal caregivers only***
Respite
The Institute on Aging has agreed to open the Enrichment Center for the day, provided enough people are interested. The Enrichment Center is located in beautiful Presidio: https://www.ioaging.org/services/all-inclusive-health-care/dementia-senior-day-care.
Funding
The Dementia Caregiver Wellness day is offered to you by the Presence Care Project and the Zen Carevgiving Project nonprofits. The Day is financially supported by the Family Caregiver Alliance, the Ray Dolby Brain Health Center, and San Francisco Village. Delicious food donations come from House of Bagels and SF Kebab Mediterranian Grill.
Funding also comes from private donations by people who understand the need for a day like this, and wish to be a part of supporting family caregivers in their community.
Of course we continue to welcome your donation of any size, which you can do by opting for a 'ticket with donation'.
We look forward to sharing this day with you!
