Delta GEMS "Growing and Empowering
Myself Successfully" was named in honor of Dr. Jeanne L. Noble as a road map for college and career planning and to instill in girls the need to excel academically. This program was created to catch the dreams of African American at-risk, adolescent girls aged 14-18. Dr. Noble was the 12th National President (1958-1963) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
Delta Academy was named in honor of Dr. Betty Shabazz. This program was created to save young females aged 11-14 from academic failure, low self-esteem, and crippled futures “Catching Dreams of Tomorrow, Preparing Young Women for the 215t Century." is the motto for this youth initiative. Dr. Betty Shabazz joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in 1974.
