About this Event

The UK Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 has resulted in the phrase ‘social value’ emerging and gaining phenomenal momentum amongst government, businesses and their stakeholders. It is changing how organisations, contracts and developments function in a way that goes far beyond the scope of legislation.

As a result, there has been increased scrutiny for the way companies conduct themselves and their impact on wider society, environmentally and socially. Social value is now considered a ‘need to have’ rather than a ‘nice to have’.

This panel will examine how social value can be achieved, the challenges the property market faces when delivering it, and how procurement can play an important role in embedding social value throughout supply chains. Crucially, how do economic values and social values interact and impact on the other, for the betterment of business and wider society?

In partnership with Bloom Procurement Services

Confirmed speakers:

  • Adam Crampsie, Manging Director, Bloom Recruitment Services (CHAIR)
  • Tom Warburton, Director of City Futures, Newcastle City Council
