*** The three buses to the climate march from Delaware are completely sold out. We are accepting names on the waiting list at this time. If you did not get a ticket but you want to go to the march please sign up for the waiting list. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL STEPHANIE to follow up on your signing up for the waitlist or in leui of doing so. There is only person fielding all these questions/emails and the quantity of them is getting very unmanageable.
While it is very unlikely that enough people will drop off the bus list in the last week for everyone on the waitlist to ride a bus, we will certainly do our best to get everyone who wants to go to the march from DE some assistance getting there. This will most likely be in the form of helping you all form carpools. If you are able to drive a carpool (most likely to a train station in North Jersey and then take a train in) please indicate that when you sign up for the wait list. Keep in mind that several people don't have cars at all, so we'll really need those who do to step up and drive carpools.
Thanks so much for your interest in the largest climate action in history!
This September, world leaders are coming to New York City for a historic UN summit on climate change. With our future on the line and the whole world watching, let’s take a weekend and use it to bend the course of history--join in by attending the People's Climate March.
Together, we’ll take to the streets to demand the world we know is within our reach: a world with an economy that works for people and the planet. A world safe from the ravages of climate change. A world with good jobs, clean air, and healthy communities for everyone.
*** Breaking!! The People's Climate March time and route are set! The march will begin at 11:30am near Columbus Circle, Manhattan, NY. We'll be dropped off on 86th Street and Central Park and the march will line up along Central Park West.

Tickets will be $25/person. However, we don't want cost to be a barrier to anyone who really wants to come to this historic event. If you want to attend but can't afford a ticket, some scholarships will be available, so go ahead and sign up at the reduced ticket price ($15) for low-income folks and college students. If you really can't afford a ticket at all, we definitely still want you to come! Reserve one of the "I want to go, but I need a scholarship" tickets on this page and just email Stephanie to confirm. Finally, if you want to support the People's Climate March but you're not sure you can attend (or if you're just feeling generous), consider funding a scholarship for a youth leader or someone who cannot afford a ticket by making a donation.
In February 2013 we facilitated the attendance of over 100 Delawareans to the historic Forward on Climate Rally in Washington D.C. Whether you were able to attend that event or not, we're going to even more people to help us make history again and show world leaders that we're serious about the needed for climate action! Join us!

Where can I find more information about the March?

How long will the march last? / When will the march end?
We are not sure exactly how long the march will last, since it depends a lot on how many people come and other variables. We are anticipating it ending around/by 4pm and the buses leaving NYC around 5pm. The ride to and from NYC should take ~3 hours. You should anticipate the buses returning to Delaware around 8pm on 9/21.
What is the march route?
The march will begin at Columbus Circle and end at 11 avenue in between 34th and 38th street. Here's a map:
Should I bring food, water, and signs with me?
Yes, bring snacks, water and anything you'll need to make you feel comfortable and ready to march for climate action!
Is there a waiting list?
If the tickets are sold out we will create a waiting list. If that occurs, please email Stephanie so that you can be put on the waiting list. If we get enough people on the waiting list to fill another bus, we'll add one.
Can I be a bus captain/state leader too?
Yes, of course! Email Stephanie!
Why are you asking for donations?
We would like to provide free seats for people who would like to come but don't have the economic means to buy a ticket. We do not want cost to a barrier for anyone who wants to attend this monumental event. We want to/will be paying to print posters, flyers, have events to tell people about the march; We would like to organize events like banner painting, offer some snacks on the bus, etc. All that costs money and any donation will make a difference and create a more awesome event for everyone.
Can I invite my friends?
Absolutely! Invite everyone you know! Want to help spread the word? Use this flyer (let Stephanie know if you need it in another format).
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. Just make sure you let Stephanie know that you've given/transfered your ticket to avoid confusion on the morning of the march.
Can I update my registration information?
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, as long as you are the person who reserved the ticket/put the ticket in your name we will have a list and check you off. If you are not the person who reserved the ticket(s) in your name and that person isn't with you, you should email Stephanie to update the list.
What is the refund policy?
There will be no refunds but your ticket is transferrable. If you're not able to attend and would like to transfer your ticket. Find someone else to use your ticket or contact Stephanie and she'll put you in touch with someone on the waiting list.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes--but please let us know in advance to avoid confusion on the morning of the march.
Will there be buses from places other than Newark and Wilmington?
At this point their are no plans for additional buses from other parts of Delaware, including Kent or Sussex County stops. However, we would LOVE to add buses from Kent or Sussex County (or other places in Delaware) but we need to have enough people to fill them to keep ticket prices reasonable. If you are interested in being a recruitment leader or bus captain from downstate, email Stephanie right away!
Buy a ticket here and we'll separate you into the appropriate bus for your location. If there is interest we can arrange carpooling to the bus pick-up spots from Kent and Sussex.
Will there a rally with speakers at the end of the march ?
Though there will certainly be some high profile climate leaders and others at the march, there will not be speakers at the People's Climate March. This is for a variety of reasons. The march has over 850 endorsing organizations and is about much more than any individual speakers or narrow focus. Instead, at the end of the march there will be some more inclusive and interactive activities and several blocks with tables of information about all different issues and groups. On the way back we can talk about how to get involved with climate activism here at home (or get others involved in campaigns you allready have going!).
