Join us for our loopiest canal walk, as we enjoy the scenic towpaths on both sides of the Delaware River and cross the river on up to five different bridges. Pass through the small towns on both sides of the Delaware, and cross the river where George did. This walk is great training for our longer towpath walks to come, including the Kennedy50 and the Great Canal Walk. Provisions and bathrooms available every few miles. The 33-36 mile route will include a dedicated stop for lunch and will be swept in the interest of all who are testing new distances. These towpaths are more populated with local traffic than the remote stretches of the C&O along the Potomac that you may know well, are very flat and well maintained, and are at times quite charming.
We will depart from the train station at 7am and will join up with those parking at the Morrisville location at about 7:30 and continue on our way. The closest lodging is a short and pleasant walk from the Morrisville start. More details will be provided via email for those who register for free on Eventbrite. Distance will vary, depending on whether you choose to walk one, two, three, or all four loops between Morrisville/Trenton and New Hope/Lambertville.
