Description

Discover art at the heart of teaching. Explore the inspiration for PSDANCE! 25 years ago at the historic 92Y Harkness Dance Center, visionary dance educatiors founded the Dance Education Laboratory (DEL), which has since stewarded the expansion of dance education throughout NYC and beyond. Join the founders of DEL and dive into the transformational joy of dance education. This movement-based workshop, which integrates improvisation and collaborative dance making using Laban Movement Analysis as a framework, is open and accessible to all. Dance-making themes will vary per workshop, so come to both sessions if you want to experience more DEL. Workshops will be with Jody Gottfried Arnhold and Ann Biddle.

About DEL:

Jody Gottfried Arnhold founded Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) in 1995, with Joan Finkelstein as Founding Director and Ann Biddle as Founding Faculty. These three visionaries saw a need for a practical and focused dance pedagogy program outside of a university setting. An experimental laboratory, DEL is a safe place for new and experienced dance teachers to enhance their skills, develop sequential curriculum, and learn from one another. For over twenty years, DEL has been training and supporting the work of dance educators, equipping the teachers of today with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.
