Defying Dualities: A Zine Making Workshop with Femme Mâché & Take Up Space
Description
The femme identity is ridden with contradictions. In this zine making workshop, join Femme Mâché and Take Up Space, founded by Bianca Ng, for a workshop diving into the series “Defying Dualities.”
For the first time, in this workshop, we will take a closer look at the 31 interviews Bianca had with 31 women. We will explore the topic of everyday contradictions that women defy: you must be bold, but timid; humble, yet proud; sexy, not slutty; adventurous, yet grounded— to name a few.
Femme, Trans, and Non-Binary folx welcome. All materials for annotating, collaging, zine-ing will be available, all you need to bring is yourself! This workshop’s fee is based on a sliding scale, please RSVP for the ticket tier you are most comfortable with.
Founded by Bianca Ng, Take Up Space is an annual visual storytelling project that celebrates everyday female voices. Every year Ng collects and artistically translates 31 stories to share during Women's History Month in March. She investigates a nuanced topic specific to the female psyche.
