Event description

Description

Reimagine End of Life 2018 is a city-wide week of exploring big questions about life and death through creativity and conversation. As part of this event, Flushing Library and End of Life Choices New York will host a screening and discussion of the documentary Defining Hope.

Defining Hope is a story about people weighing what matters most at the most fragile junctures in life and the nurses who guide them. It is a documentary that follows individuals with life-threatening illnesses as they make choices about how they want to live, how much medical technology they can accept, what they hope for, and how that hope evolves when life is threatened. It is optimistic and reminds us that we have choices in how we die. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with producers of the film and experts in hospice and palliative care.
