Event description

Description

Join the Intercept and the Center for Reproductive Rights on the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade for an engaging conversation about the future of reproductive rights in the United States – with a focus on abortion access and maternal health across racial, regional and economic lines.

The night will also feature a screening of the short Intercept documentary “An Abortion in Mississippi,” profiling a woman seeking to terminate her pregnancy at the only abortion clinic left in the state. This film is part of Intercept reporter Jordan Smith’s road trip through some of the most difficult places to obtain an abortion in the country.

Featuring:

Rebecca Traister (author, “Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Women’s Anger”)

Yamani Hernandez (executive director, National Network of Abortion Funds)

Dani McClain (author, “We Live for the We: The Political Power of Black Motherhood”)

Lourdes Rivera (senior vice president of U.S. programs, Center for Reproductive Rights)

Betsy Reed (editor-in-chief, The Intercept)

Jordan Smith (investigative reporter, The Intercept)

Note: For security reasons, tickets must be purchased by January 19. Please RSVP well in advance if you would like to attend. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. Security will be in place so please arrive early.
