About this event
The Michigan State Police recently reported that marijuana impaired driving is on the rise which will lead to increased enforcement. It is important for criminal defense practitioners to be prepared for more OWI-Marijuana prosecutions. For this reason, on February 29, 2021 MIAOWIA’s chair, Barton Morris, will be conducting a Zoom webinar on the subject of defending OWI-Marijuana Offenses. Barton Morris is a renowned expert on defending OWI-MJ cases in Michigan. He has previously presented on this topic to the Michigan Impaired Driving Safety Commission and the State Bar of Michigan Cannabis Bar Section Annual Meeting. Topics to be discussed will include, applicability of SFST’s, why the forensic science report may be unreliable and inadmissible, effective pre-trial motions and trial strategies.
