The Water Protection Network will reserve hotel rooms for up to three nights and will pay for two room nights for the first 40 people to register by September 26, 2019. Attendees registering with the "General Registration & Lodging" option do not need to make their own reservations. If the "General Registration & Lodging" option is no longer available but you would like assistance covering hotel costs, please contact Ilana Rubin at rubini@nwf.org.

Meeting Time:

Tuesday, October 29: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Eastern Time)
Wednesday, October 30: 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM (Eastern Time), followed by meetings with Members of Congress

Day 1, October 29:

  • Natural Infrastructure: Cost-Effective Solutions for People & the Environment
  • Working with Decision-Makers to Protect Our Waters: Keynote & Discussion with the Honorable Jo-Ellen Darcy
  • Strengthening Your Advocacy and Organization: Equity & Inclusion
  • Strategies for Greening and Stopping Corps Projects: Collaboration & Pressure Points
  • WPN Legislative Agenda: Transforming Water Resources Planning One Step at a Time

Day 2, October 30:

  • Making Our Case to Congress: Legislative Agenda Review & Getting Ready for the Hill
  • WPN member meetings with Members of Congress


Meeting Location:

Human Rights Campaign, Equality Center
1640 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036

We will have our meeting at the Equality Center on October 29 and the morning of October 30, and then go to Capitol Hill.

Travel:

The hotel and meeting space are one block from each other, and are close to the Farragut West, Farragut North, and Dupont Circle subway stations. The closest airport is the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and the closest train station is Washington, DC's Union Station. Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) also serve the DC area. A limited number of travel scholarships are available. Food:

The Water Protection Network will provide breakfast and lunch on October 29th and breakfast on October 30th.
