Event description
Community Chats are virtual opportunities to hear from local experts about pertinent topics related to homelessness in Orange County.

About this event

Join us on Thursday, September 30th at 12:00 pm for the last Chat of our 2-Part Chat series on the new Emergency Housing Vouchers you might have heard about!

**This Chat will be 45 minutes long- longer than our usual 30 minute Chats**

As part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the Department of Housing and Urban Development made 70,000 new housing choice vouchers available to communities across the country. These vouchers are meant to help communities address the potential increase in housing instability and homelessness as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this Chat, we'll be going into the specifics of how local housing authorities will be administering their vouchers.

Our speakers will be Mayor Steve Jones from the City of Garden Grove, Marie Vu the Housing Manager for the Orange County Housing Authority, Judson Brown the Housing Division Manager for the Santa Ana Housing Authority, Kerrin Cardwell the Housing Authority Manager for the Anaheim Housing Authority and Doug Becht, Acting Director of the Office of Care Coordination at the Orange County Health Care Agency.

This is Part 2 of a 2-Part series. If you haven't, sign-up for the first session on September 23rd by clicking here.

When you register you will have the opportunity to submit questions about the topic that you would like our guest speakers to answer. We will do our best to answer as many questions as possible, but we cannot guarantee that your questions will be answered during the event.

Attendees will be emailed the Zoom participation link one hour before the session begins. Registration will close one hour before the event. If you miss the registration deadline, you can tune in to watch on our Facebook page.
