Event description

Description

Deep Play is a weekly workshop for artists interested in unleashing their expression through mindful and embodied improvisation practices. This work invites forward the deep and subtle experiences of the personal body into a shared space. Using a somatic approach, you will learn and enter practical forms and structures from the Six Viewpoints and Contemplative Dance practice in order to discover how your visceral experience alone can be a rich source of material, artistic and otherwise. These forms particularly invite meditation, improvisation, repetition, chaos and space. However else you employ your body and mind in space is also welcome. The invitation of these practices is to arrive exactly as you are, in this moment, again and again. Through repeating these forms, the intention is to allow deeper layers of radical self-expression to be revealed.
