Event description

Description

Please join ATLA and EBSCO at a special breakfast presentation at ACRL: Deep Learning, Experimental Humanities, and the Future of the Higher Education — Or, Why Librarians and Humanities Scholars Need to Learn to Code.

Humanists face challenges to engaging new technologies (e.g., the current debates concerning “AI”). We need to find ways to provide both access to these tools and opportunities to experiment with them. Research libraries in colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education are central in addressing this need.

Dr. Timothy Beal is the Florence Harkness Professor of Religion and interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. He has published thirteen books, most recently The Book of Revelation: A Biography (Princeton University Press, 2018), for which he won a Public Scholar Award from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
