Event description
Honoring the Piscataway people and the indigenous history of Washington, D.C.

About this Event

To celebrate and bless "Imprinting States of Being: A Mural by Joerael Numina," honoring the Piscataway people and the indigenous history of Washington, D.C., GW's Corcoran School of the Arts and Design would like to invite you to attend a free dedication ceremony on October 19th. The event will begin with a Piscataway traditional blessing, drumming by the Uptown Boyz, historical presentation by Gabrielle Tayac and ending with Joerael Numina discussing the imagery of the mural. After the speaking portion concludes, guests will be invited to go view the mural on the ground floor.

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided at this event.

You can read more about this mural here.
