Description

Decolonizing Wellness, An Ancestral and Earth-Based Approach To Wellness

A workshop developed and facilitated by Angela Angel

Taking care of ourselves has always been a part of the traditional indigenous village model. In traditional medicine the person is treated as a united human being. That means the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and even collective health of the person and their community is approached as one entity, equally. All of our systems, embodiments and the larger aspects of ourselves are connected and constantly interacting with each other. In this workshop, we will learn about those connections and how to more integratively approach health. We will be working with herbal medicine, our ancestral lineages, connecting the larger systems of oppression that affect our well-being and deconstructing how we approach wellness.

Angela Angel is an artist, permaculture gardener, traditional and holistic healing practitioner, medium and ceremonialist. Angela began leading meditations intertwined with art and sound therapy techniques at the age of 18. She is trained and inherited ancestral medicine in several modalities including in herbal medicine, energy healing, art & color and crystal/gemstone therapy. Angela channels and communicates with ancestors and other beings. She is a seer and energy reader and travels dimensions in which she interprets visions, messages and dreams for the planet. She is humbled to serve as a vessel in this lifetime.Angela has also served as a community organizer over the years and is building ways to connect healing work and social justice to help create communities that are even more resilient.
