Event description

Description

Decolonizing the Psyche: Innovations in Community-based Learning is a series of trans-disciplinary workshops exploring the decolonial turn in psychology and emergent perspectives that are shifting healing approaches, attitudes and practices in the field. The multi-perspective journey centers on a question posed by Ursula Lau, a Community Psychologist from the University of South Africa, Pretoria.

"How do we contribute to decolonising our communities [and our psychologies] when our social and institutional arrangements mirror relationships asymmetrically structured in configurations of race, gender, and class that are naturalised through our everyday relations?" (South African Journal of Psychology, 2017).

*This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 9:30 AM and the event is from 10 AM to 1 PM.

*There are two dates left in the series: June 9 and July 21, 2018. Look forward to seeing you all there!
