Event description

Description

The digital revolution is powered by code, yet code itself might as well be a foreign language for most people. What does the rise of automation and artificial intelligence mean for creative professionals? Should we see these innovations as a threat, or an opportunity?

In this talk, award-winning agency 180 Kingsday is partnering with technology education company Decoded to explain you, as a professional in the creative industry, all about automation and new technologies in the hope to spark your minds to think as innovative as possible and to understand the importance of education.

Kees Plattel (Facilitator, Decoded) will start by looking back to look forward. Where has digital technology come from? What can this story tell us about where digital technology is going and which skills will still be relevant working in 2035? How can you learn them, develop yourself and keep educated on new technologies?

After that Christiana Courtright and Steve Brown from 180 Kingsday will talk about the different ways innovation is used in marketing communication and how to spark creative work with innovation.

About the hosts:

Kees Plattel is a creative technologist. He facilitates Code and Innovation at Decoded, a British education company which demystifies the world of digital technology through creative, hands-on learning experiences. Kees has a background in advertising (Achtung, Wieden+Kennedy), works as a freelancer on various projects and brews his own beer.

Steve Brown is Content and Innovation Director at 180 Kingsday. His focus is to drive new ways for brands to bring their purpose, products and services to life in a way that is meaningful to people. Previously Steve worked at TBWA\Helsinki and thinks the weather in Amsterdam is always really nice.

Christiana Courtright is Senior Social Strategist at 180 Kingsday. Her focus is on helping international brands strategically create content to drive engaging social media campaigns. Previously Christiana worked in London building the online community of the governments first Internet of Things programme. In her past life she was a trained chef who was invited to be on Australia's 'Come Dine with Me' but declined.
