Come tour the Matchbox, DC's only off-grid tiny house! Fully supported by solar and rainwater catchment, the 145-square-foot Matchbox is one half of Boneyard Studios (boneyardstudios.org), currently located amidst a lovely urban farm and nursery at Old City Farm & Guild—just a two-block walk from the Shaw Metro, Rhode Island Avenue bus stops, and CaBi stations (on-street parking also available).
The tour will start promptly at 11AM with a Q&A (please arrive on time!). Afterwards, everyone will have an opportunity to come inside the Matchbox (albeit maybe not all at once) to get a closer look and ask more specific questions. Photography, kids, and animals all welcome. If it's cold, we'll try to have a fire going (and maybe some warm cider) outside.
PLEASE NOTE that the Matchbox (and this tour) are not necessarily accessible to those with vision, mobility, or hearing impairments, but we'll totally do our best to accomodate you if you let us know beforehand.
Oh, one last thing: Old City Farm & Guild, the lovely garden center surrounding the Matchbox, is in full holiday tree mode with loads and loads of fragrant Christmas trees for sale. Consider supporting local business and picking up your tree right after the tour!
