Event description

Description

Calling musicians of all ages!

Celebrate Thelonious Monk's 100th birthday by digging into the composer's most famous tunes. Grab your instrument, bring a chart, and build your chops with Harlem pianist David Durrah and a community of budding contemporary musicians and living legends.

Don't play an instrument? Our monthly Saturday Sessions are a space for musicians and fans alike. Grab a latté and soak up Harlem's vibrant live music scene.

Saturday Sessions
In keeping with Harlem's tradition of artist salons and after-hours performances, Saturday Sessions provide an informal creative space for musicians to connect and play with mentors.

Saturday Sessions are presented in partnership with the Jazz Foundation of America’s Gig Fund program, with support from New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
