Event description
Join us for a lively learning experience designed to help parents and educators use improv to teach through the unknown.

About this event

TEACHERS AND PARENTS are invited to join us for two hours of interactive creativity as we learn about and strengthen the skills of improvisation that can be applied to all learning experiences with children and youth. At a time of year when stress levels are high, we've selected a focus for our December Institute that is sure to bring those stress levels down, laughter!

In December we will explore:

  • Ways to find laughter in unexpected places.
  • Methods for bringing JOY into your classroom, and life!
  • Hands-on games that will make you think, and smile!

DC Public School teachers get PLUs through the Washington Teachers' Union for participation. Thanks to the generosity of our donor community, Institutes are free for all participants.

This is the registration page for our In-Person event which will be held in the East Wing of the National Gallery of Art. Masks will be required at all times and we will be gathering in large open spaces within the museum and observing physical distancing at all times.

We will meet outside the entrance to the museum at 10 AM. The front of the building is being renovated but there is an entrance to the right of the blue "SO-SO SO, SO SORRY" sign. Inspired Teaching facilitators can be identified by their bright orange scarves.

Our ONLINE event will be held Thursday, December 9 from 7-9 PM ET. You can find registration for that event here.
