Event description
As darkness edges around us, we'll draw warmth from the blazing fire and reflect on the the still-present life laying dormant around us.

About this Event

As the days continue to shorten, join us around the fire pit as we reflect on A Time for Quiet Darkness. Our gathering will follow a rhythm of silence, chant and reflection; walking or sitting in silence for 30 minutes will serve as our “sermon.” We will close with a brief time of conversation, light snacks, and fellowship.

Wondering what to bring? First of all, dress for the weather; unless the weather is very challenging, we will meet outside around the fire. Benches are available around the fire pit, but you may bring a camp chair if you prefer. You will likely want to bring a blanket, reusable water bottle, and perhaps your journal and snacks to share. We will be accepting donations to cover the cost of meeting at Shepherd's Spring so you may want to bring cash if you wish to contribute.

As you arrive, look for Church of the Wild signs that will direct you to the gathering area. It will be a short walk from the parking area. Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early so that you can park, check in and get settled; we will begin on time. If despite best laid plans you are late, please do come and join the circle; one of our greeters will discretely catch you up with what's happening.

Church of the Wild ~ Two Rivers is an emerging community, meeting in the midst of and drawing from the beauty of the living earth. Our intent is to deepen our connection to the Holy by being more fully present, open and available in each moment. We learn from the earth and trees, the waters and sky, and from all living beings, human and non-human.

You are welcome! We welcome anyone who seeks to deepen their spirituality through time in nature. Whatever your religious tradition, or if you have none, Christian or otherwise, no matter your gender identity or sexual orientation, you are welcome here. Children are welcome too; email us ahead of time so that we can offer suggestions to make this time more meaningful and relevant for them. Dogs are not permitted at this location.
