What a better way to kick off the festive season than with a traditional ballet performance. We are honoured to have the ABC-Tokyo Ballet Company perform one of their signature pieces exclusively for us.

Yuki Onna’ was first presented in Austria in 2005 at the “International Ballet Meeting” organized by Ballet St. Poelten with ballet star and Berlin Ballet Director Vladimir Malakhov as its patron.  The ballet was a huge success, expressed by the audience's enthusiastic applause. The most representative excerpt in ‘Yuki Onna’ is undoubtedly JAPANISM, ‘the dance with red kimonos and sticks’. It has now become ABC's trademark and has been shown close to 100 times since its creation. The company was invited to perform the whole ballet numerous times in Perth, Australia as well as at the Vienna Districts Festival Weeks, Austria reaching an audience of more than 10,000.

Ballet Company Profile

In February 2004, ABC-Tokyo officially opened its doors. Their first performance was the ‘Vienna Opera Ball’ at the Westin Hotel in front of Japan’s high society, including Prince Akishino. Since its inception, ABC-Tokyo has always kept close at heart the great classical ballets to constantly challenge the technical level of the company dancers as cultural ambassadors for Austria in Japan. With the creation of JAPANISM, first performed in 2005, they also now represent Japan through ballet to the rest of the world. ABC-Tokyo was the first ballet academy in Japan to provide first class ballet education on full scholarship. They have five affiliate schools in the Tokyo, Chiba and Saitama areas educating over 250 students.

Through their highly entertaining performances, ABC wants to touch the heart of everyone in the audience, be it a ballet lover or first timer. They want to inspire everyone in the audience and send them home with hope that they can make a difference in the world. The ballet company also has a ballet academy called Austrian Ballet School teaching an internationally proven ballet curriculum and encouraging young dancers as human spirits. For those exceptionally gifted and those in special need, scholarships and financial aid are offered.
