About this event
Elections👏 have👏 consequences👏 ...and like it or not, it matters who our local leaders are!
It's our responsibility as advocates to be a resource for new leaders and their staff on all matters related to active transportation policy, and developing livable communities that serve all people, and all ages and abilities.
Join us on Wednesday, December 21st, to workshop next steps and strategies to build and strengthen relationships with newly elected city and county leaders.
The forum will begin with a recap of key races throughout San Mateo County and Santa Clara counties, followed by a presentation that includes proposals for next steps local teams can take to begin the engagement process with newly elected leaders. In lieu of a panel, SVBC staff will present ideas and local teams will have an extended breakout session to start planning this engagement in 2023.

About the Monthly Biketivist Forum:
The goal of the Biketivist Forum is to create collaboration among all of SVBC’s members and give you an opportunity to meet and connect with you neighbors to organize around better biking. There is so much work to do across 35 cities and towns and we HAVE to rely on you, the people. We can't be successful without teams of people working to make change in each community and fight against the status quo.
The format will be:
- First half will include an election recap, a presentation on next steps and strategies local teams can deploy, and additional breakout group time to begin planning newly elected official engagement in 2023.
- Second half will be devoted to local team meetings through breakout groups designated by city. These breakout groups will give attendees a chance to discuss the information from the speaker and apply it to their city’s context as well as cover regular monthly business.
This forum will occur monthly on the third Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.
