PLEASE JOIN US FOR PUBLICOLOR’S ANNUAL PAINTING PARTY AND BE PART OF THE VIBRANT, COLOR-FILLED FAMILY FUN!
Primer Party is a unique opportunity for families (grandparents are included!) to work and play together as they paint an under-resourced New York City public school. All the funds raised will support the transformation of another struggling public school so low-income students can spend their days in a warm, welcoming and safe environment that’s conducive to learning.

The work of Publicolor begins with the simple act of picking up a paintbrush, as students add vibrant colors to the walls of their own struggling schools, helping transform drab, institutional spaces into stimulating and welcoming learning environments. The at-risk students who continue in our long-term, design-based program continuum participate in weekly academic tutoring sessions, as well as weekly participation in community service, college preparation workshops, and career readiness workshops. All stay with us through middle school, high school and even college. They work alongside volunteers, parents, teachers and Publicolor staff to make positive changes in their lives and in their neighborhoods. And despite our focus on high-risk students, Publicolor continues to achieve great success. Last year 96% of our Publicolor students graduated high school on time vs. 67% citywide. 98% of our high school graduates went on to college vs. 46% of low-income peers nationwide. And 100% of Publicolor students are offered a college scholarship. Publicolor empowers struggling public school students to prepare for success in college, career, and life. #publicolornyc
