Description

Overview

Imagine watching the sun rise over the pastel colors of Zabriskie Point, the Milky Way arch over imposing sand dunes and the sun set over the lowest place on Earth, stunning Badwater Basin. This workshop will immerse you and a small group of participants in the art of landscape and night skies photography in Death Valley National Park. We’ll take advantage of the park’s dark night skies and stunning sunrises and sunsets to capture this desert gem.

We’ll be staying in the Ranch at the Oasis at Death Valley, a true oasis resort in the desert, complete with palm trees, a sparkling pool and exceptional food, located conveniently in Death Valley National Park.

The workshop begins the evening of December 8 with a meet-and-greet dinner reception. From there, we’ll dive into classroom and in-the-field experiences. Be prepared to walk up to a quarter mile on uneven surfaces, such as sand dunes, to get to each shoot location.

Tamron USA will have their full complement of lenses available to loan out to you for the entire program in Canon, Sony and Nikon mounts. National Park Trips (an Authorized Permittee of the National Park Service) and Tamron USA have teamed up to for the 5th year in a row to offer National Park Photography Workshops in parks across the Western US in 2020.
