About this Event

April 1, 2020 | 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

We understand that these are serious times and that they call for serious measures to be taken. We all need to do our part in ensuring that as few people as possible are impacted by the coronavirus. Each of us needs to do our part, through social distancing and diligent hygiene practices, to combat this pandemic. That is why this has now been moved to Zoom.

By RSVP'ing you will automatically receive the Zoom link the day before the event.

Panelists will explore capital punishment in general and in particular the legislative initiatives being considered in the Delaware General Assembly this year.

The purpose of this discussion is to inform the community of the serious consequences of moving Delaware back to the status of a “death penalty state”. There will be multiple opportunities for you to take direction action to help stop the death penalty throughout the event.

Panelists Include:

  • Brendan O'Neil - Public Defenders Office
  • Barbara Lewis - Restorative Justice Advocate - Personal experience with DP
  • Kristin Froehlich - Victim family member who fought against use of DP
  • Karen Lantz - Civil Rights Lawyer with the ACLU-DE
  • More to come

There will be an opportunity for questions from those attending.

Sponsors include:

  • Delaware United
  • Unitarian Universalist of Delaware Advocacy Network
  • Delaware Law School American Constitution Society
  • Delaware Citizens Opposed To The Death Penalty
  • Delaware Center for Justice
  • Delaware Women for Inclusion
  • Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice

We will still be doing our call to action at the end of the event, so make sure to have your pen, paper, envelope and stamp with you for the end of the evening.

If you have not used Zoom before, we recommend that you download the app and watch the tutorials and try it out before the 1st, just so you’re comfortable.
