Focusing on three Negro Spirituals, Osheta Moore will introduce the idea of becoming an anti-racism peacemaker.

  • leaders of conference related ministries of LMC and Atlantic Coast Conference
  • pastors of LMC and ACC congregations

Focusing on three Negro Spirituals, Osheta Moore will introduce the idea of becoming an anti-racism peacemaker: a person who actively works toward holistic restoration of the interpersonal and systemic effects of white supremacy through non-violence and empathy.

She will lead the group in educational sessions as well as contemplative practices for leaders. 

Schedule:

9:00 Opening Session "Wade in the Water"

Why anti-racism, problems with current approaches, and a call to integrate peacemaking into our antiracism.

11:00 "There is a Balm in Gilead"

Integrating Contemplative practices ofBelovedness in our anti-racism work to buildresilance to feelings of inadequacy or shame

12:30 Lunch

2:00 "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around"

As leaders seeking anti-racism, many obsticles orfrustrations will come, this session will highlightsome of those and use the "Lord Prayer" as a guidefor staying grounded and hopeful.

Cost: $50 per person. Includes lunch.

Registration is capped at 75 participants, including three from each ministry, after which registrants will be added to a waiting list. 

COVID safety procedures will be followed according to Garden Spot Village policy during this event. This includes mask wearing.
