Prairieland Counseling Services

Hello! My name is Natalie and I have been practicing counseling since 2009 helping clients with a vast array of mental health concerns. From anxiety and depression to relationship and self esteem issues I work with the client to identify their strengths and utilize them to live the life they envision and support them on their journey.

I specialize in reproductive mental health which includes peri-natal, post-partum, infertility, infant loss, paternal mental health, and the impact on couples. I worked as a child birth educator and have two children of my own sparking my passion of working with reproductive mental health. I also have received specialized training in perinatal and post-partum mental health from Postpartum Support International.

I was recently selected as the 2019 Outstanding Mental Health Counselor by the North Dakota Mental Health Counseling Association for my work with reproductive mental health. I feel so honored to receive this recognition for work that I love to do.

Trishia Powell, MSW/LICSW

Becoming Balanced

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) providing therapy services here at Becoming Balanced, and also the Co-founder. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead and my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota. I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field in the Fargo-Moorhead area, including in the hospital, outpatient/clinic, and community settings. I have completed a certificate training in Peri-natal Mood and Anxiety Disorders through Postpartum Support International. My clinical work over the past several years has focused primarily on Women’s Health, particularly working with peri-natal and postpartum mental health, infertility and pregnancy/infant loss.

After becoming a mom, I realized how challenging it can be to find the balance in life, which is so important for all moms! Additionally, I have experience working with individuals with chronic medical conditions, including adjusting to a new chronic condition. Being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018 myself, I can identify with this on both the personal and professional levels. I have experience working in the medical setting, as I worked several years with primary care mental health integration. My approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a lot of focus on self-care and mindfulness. I really strive to help individuals find their strengths, and grow in those areas. Empowering women has become a focus and a passion of mine!

In addition to my social worker and therapist identity, I am also a wife to the most supportive husband, a household manager, and mom of 3 amazing children and 1 dog. I myself am constantly working to find and keep balance in our lives! Anyone who knows me would say I tend to sign up for too much, so I’m working on that! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, attending my children’s numerous activities and sporting events, cooking, golfing, binging Netflix and Prime shows, napping, and exercising.
