Scottish singer-songwriter Dean Owens returns to Seymour, IN for an acoustic performance. Chris Wilson from Indianapolis opens the show.

About this Event

The Crossroads Music Team is excited to bring Scottish singer-songwriter, Dean Owens back to Seymour. We met him last year when he performed at Crossroads Acoustic Fest and he quickly won us over. He's a fantastic entertainer, blessed with a remarkable voice, great stage presence, and a host of memorable songs.

---

Award winning Scottish singer-songwriter Dean Owens is widely hailed as one of UK’s finest troubadours, with fans including Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh and BBC legend “Whispering” Bob Harris.

In 2019 Dean won UK Song of the Year Award at the Americana Music Association UK Awards for the title track of his 2018 release Southern Wind (co-written with long term collaborator Will Kimbrough); in 2017 he became the first Scottish musician to officially showcase at the prestigious AmericanaFest Nashville.

In 2018/19 he covered over 20,000 miles and 12 states in the USA , performing a mix of solo shows and with various collaborators including Will Kimbrough, Wild Ponies and The Two Tracks. He has toured with The Mavericks, Grant Lee Phillips, Will Hoge and opened for artists including Roseanne Cash, Jason Isbell and Patty Griffin. Dean’s music has taken him around the world, especially Europe, USA and Australia.

---

Indianapolis based singer-songwriter Chris Wilson will open the show. He has often been compared to artists like Ray LaMontagne and Glen Hansard. Wilson’s style is a mix of indie folk and Americana, tied together with big melodies and raw emotion. After spending three years living in Ireland where he wrote and recorded The Fragile EP, Wilson returned to Indianapolis, Indiana to continue writing, recording and touring as he has for the last fifteen years. His most recent project entitled “Downfall,” released last year, has garnered multiple placements in film and TV. This new album showcases Wilson’s soulful voice with inspired instrumentation and autobiographical lyrics. Downfall includes two songs, ‘Lower’ and ‘Jealous’ that were prominently featured in the Lifetime Network Movies ‘Christmas in Mississippi’ and ‘Hometown Christmas’. Wilson’s songs have been recorded and performed by artists such as Marc Broussard and Ryan Cabrera.
