Description
Dealing with Radical Islam
Door open 4:00 - Program starts 4:45
Islamic terrorist, Muslim fundamentalists, Extremists, Radical Islam, these are just some labels that have being applied to Muslims and certain Muslim group in recent times and years. The media portrayal of Islam often misleads those whose knowledge of the religion is limited into making negative assumptions about this peaceful and tolerant way of life. Islamic terrorists have relied on particular interpretations of the tenets of the Quran and the Hadith, citing these scriptures to justify violence.
Join us On March 29th with Dr. Yasir Qadhi who will be speaking about how to deal with Radical Islam and the truth about terror groups.
About the speaker:
Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, TX, and completed a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering. After working for a short stint at Dow Chemical, he then decided to pursue a ful-time career of Islamic scholarship, which led him to a ten-year immersion at the University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, where completed a second Bachelors and his first M.A. (in Islamic theology).
The tragic event of 9/11 caused him to return to the States, in order to, as he puts it '...build bridges of understanding between American and Muslims.' He completed an M.A. and an M.Phil., and eventually his PhD, from Yale University.
