Event description

Description

The Twin Cities community will have the opportunity to learn more about deaf and hard-of-hearing culture at the Deaf Awareness Day organized by the Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens.

“There is a huge deaf community in Twin Cities,” Mark Zangara, event coordinator, said. “Everyone should experience what this rich culture has to offer. This event is a fun way to learn about American Sign Language and deaf culture.”

At 10 a.m., tables will be open for games, prizes and information. There will also be exhibitors selling crafts. Attendees can learn basic sign language. Concessions will be sold all day. Representatives from different organizations and schools will be on site to provide information.

Deaf Awareness Day, free and open to the public, will take place on the Stillwater Area High School campus; information tables will be open until 5 p.m.
