Digital DUMBO London

Join the FT and Digital DUMBO on Thursday, June 12 for an intimate discussion on how to successfully raise capital for your startup.

Digital DUMBO is partnering with the Financial Times to explore what budding entrepreneurs need to do to secure early-stage funding for their startups. Whether you’re building the next big web app or launching a creative ad agency, this panel features a diverse range of experts from across the creative and tech industries. You will get first-hand intelligence into what it takes to raise capital for your business. Coming up with an idea is straightforward. Pitching that idea to investors -- not so much. A startup revolution is sweeping across London but only a few manage to get the funding they need to thrive.

Hear from Eileen Burbidge and Hussein Kanji, both early-stage technology venture capitalists based in London, the founder of social video marketing company Unruly, and the directors of Wayra and YPlan. FT journalists Maija Palmer and Sally Davies will moderate. This panel discussion will equip entrepreneurs with the practical knowledge they need to win over investors. Entrepreneurs will learn:

  • What are the biggest obstacles that entrepreneurs face when trying to raise capital for their business?
  • What are the most common mistakes that entrepreneurs make when approaching VCs?
  • What are the skills and traits that investors look for in an entrepreneur and start-up?

Networking and drinks to follow. Spots are limited so sign up today.
