Event description

Description

What does the workplace look like today, and how are we shaping it for the future? We’ll discuss how opportunities look for women and minorities in business. We’ll talk about the impact the “brain drain” has had on Detroit and where it shows most (think about the Amazon bid). We’ll explore what the city has to offer to creative minds and how we’re working to retain talented college graduates tempted to move elsewhere for opportunity.

Speakers to include:

  • Nikki Pardo, owner of Global Alliance Solutions

  • Tiffany Brown, of Urban Arts Collective.

This is the third event in a series of events taking place between April-October 2018. Lawrence Technological University’s Detroit Center for Design + Technology (DCDT) Design Incubator will continue its creative economy-focused speaker seminar and workshop series, DCDT TALK, in 2018. DCDT TALK is meant to reach and support new and growing creative businesses in Detroit. For those seeking resources and guidance as they build a business in Detroit, a selection of eight programs will be presented courtesy of the Hudson Webber Foundation and in partnership with its Design Incubator programs DCDT CoWork and Woodward + Willis, a student-led design studio.
